A few words about me
My name is Florin (or Flo for short) and I am a London based Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) Specialist. I’m currently employed as SEO Executive by a marketing agency based in Hertfordshire. Because of that and because I have my own personal projects or other freelancing projects, my availability might not be great but I aim to respond to every email I get in maximum 24 hours.
How I started with SEO
I discovered SEO while I was studying for an MSc at Kingston University (eBusiness module). Following graduation, I decided to put what I had learnt into practice. Doing SEO as a business owner is truly invaluable for any SEO as it helps developing a slightly different approach focused on end game values rather than intermediate (e.g. think about customers more than rankings – do not get me wrong, rankings are still a good metric).
This is why I highly recommend to any SEO specialist to start an online project of their own (if they have not done so yet), which can be also used as a test bed for various project. SEO is about doing it rather than reading about it.
How I work
I am an avid practitioner of Agile Marketing (a method deriving from Agile software development) – in a nutshell, getting things done and being responsive to changes is more important than documentation. It is particularly important in the online industry as it changes at breath-taking speeds: hyperlinks between webpages come and go every second, Facebook likes are given at a tremendous frequency and Google makes almost two changes every day to its algorithm.
All SEO campaigns I work on have their basis on 3 core principles:
• prioritise – Google ranks each web page using over 200 signals, so prioritising low hanging fruits is key
• focus – rather than spreading the effort over a number of objectives, select a few and make an impact as soon as poosible
• integrate – an online campaign that works together with your offline efforts will always make a bigger impact than the two working separately
